Babies can be quite expensive, but that should not make parenthood a burden. Every time I have to buy baby clothes, I am astonished by their high cost. Over the years, I have realized the tricks of going about this, and I am willing to share with other parents. Here is how I get quality baby clothes for less.
Overlook collections
You have probably already noticed how most of the kid’s clothing shops group their latest collections in front of the store where buyers can see all of the selected pieces together. It is these collections that persuade the buyers to buy matching shorts, tops, shoes, and also the cute hair clips all at once.
However, your child does not require every piece of the collection. He probably has a top and all he needs is a trouser. Since these collections have a persuasive charm, just ignore them. Go straight to the kids’ stores and buy what you need.
Share the basics
If you have two kids of almost the same age, then you are sitting on a gold mine and have no idea. Yes, you do not want your daughter to wear a Lightning McQueen shirt, and whether do you want your boy to wear a pair of Mary Janes. However, when it comes to basics, what’s the harm if they share? Items such as hoodies, jackets, and boots and snow pants can fit both genders; thus can be shared easily. I usually buy them in dull colors so that they can be passed on and shared.
Shop secondhand
Do not shy off from second-hand clothes, as they can offer you significant savings. You can check out local consignment stores and thrift shops to get great deals on gently used clothes. Usually, buying dresses for special occasions such as Halloween and Easter is a great idea. Most of these have not been worn more than once and also your baby does not have to wear her old Easter dress for the second time.
